The latest version of All-About-PDF has added the ability to find and replace text in PDF documents with random characters. Here is how to use it:
If you haven’t already, download and install All-About-PDF from here
Open All-About-PDF and then click on the “Replace Txt” button
In the screen that opens, select the PDF file you would like to process
Click on the “+” to add a Find-Replace pair
Enter the word or phrase you would like to find
Define the random word to replace it with as follows:
The definition must start with {{ and end with }}
To generate a random letter between A and Z, enter the letter A
To generate a random letter between a and z, enter the letter a
To generate a random number between 0 and 9, enter the character #
To put this in practice, if you wanted to have a random string that starts with one uppercase letter, followed by two lowercase letters and ends with two numbers, this can be defined as {{Aaa##}}.
Furthermore, you can combine random letters with static ones. For example, to prefix the random word with “007-”, you can simply define the replacement word as 007-{{Aaa##}}.
To get started with using this feature, download and install All-About-PDF today.
